Overview
The product J2K Video Compression
System J2KVCS is being developed as a system for providing high speed
on-board compression of captured color video of up to 80MBps data. The
data can be compressed to the desired output data
rate. The same is achieved by employing JPEG 2000 video compression
engine. The output data can be transmitted through multiple interfaces
like Ethernet, HDLC etc.

Functionality
The system provides camera link
interface for the camera input. The incoming frames are time stamped
and sent to multiple video encoders (ADV 212) for compression. This
compression is lossy in nature. The compressed data is captured back
inside the FPGA, optionally encrypted and packetized. This packetized
data can be PCM encoded for onward transmission.

Customization
Camera Link and Output Interface board
can be modified to provide interface to client specific camera and
client specific signal conversion/conditioning requirement for the
compressed data output from the system.
Video Compression board can be
configured for different compression ratio, synch pattern and output
frame size selection.
