Overview
LAN WAN Encryption Unit (LWEU) is transparent equipment which can seamlessly
bridge Time Domain and Packet Networks. Data traversing through LWEU can be
processed for Encryption, Compression, FEC and/or any Custom Data Processing
Technique.

Working
LWEU acts like a bridge between LAN and WAN side interfaces. LAN side
interface is 10/100/1000Mbps Ethernet whereas WAN side its E1 or E3 or V.35 or
10/100/1000Mbps Ethernet. In addition LWEU performs Compression/Decompression
and Forward Error Correction on the data to be transmitted as well on the data
received. Compression is performed to improve the efficiency of bandwidth usage;
whereas FEC is performed when retransmission is either not advisable or not
possible.
